This week’s featured market is Whiskey Island.
Whiskey Island is a non-profit literary magazine that has been published in one form or another by the students of Cleveland State University for over 30 years.
They are an attractive literary magazine that operates exclusively in print.
According to their submission guidelines page, they are looking for writing that surprises with language and plot.
They want experimentation, and love to be entertained.
As well as short fiction, they accept creative essays, poetry and flash fiction.
Think you’ve got what it takes?
Whiskey Island seeks original poetry and fiction during two reading periods: August 15th through November 15th, and January 15th through April 15th. The good news is that you still have until November 15th to submit!
Here’s their submissions guidelines:
We accept simultaneous submissions and ask that you identify them as such in your cover letter. No multiple submissions, please, and no previously published work either. Reporting time can be as long as 3 months, but we try to be much, much faster. Please keep fiction submissions to 8000 words or less.
You can submit using their submissions portal here. So get submitting!
